New Fall Program...

Watch here for our new schedule.  Get ready to go to AWANA!

TEACHABLE MOMENTS

You may not have a degree in education.  You may never have taught a Sunday school class in your life.  Maybe you don't even like the thought of school or teachers at all.

But if you are a parent, God has given you the role of full-time teacher--ready or not!  Several verses in the Bible command parents to instruct their children in the ways of the Lord (e.g., Deuteronomy 6:5-7, Ephesians 6:4, Pslam 78:5-6).

Before you start feeling intimidated, remember that children learn best through everyday, informal situations.  Your example, your conversations with them and your responses to real-life experiences continually teach them.

In fact, teachable moments occur so often that parents often miss them.  This week, keep your eyes open for some of these "prime times" for teaching.

WELCOME...

We welcome all boys and girls, age 3 through 6th graders, to become part of our Awana Club.  This is an active program filled with games, music, Bible memory, projects, awards, and much, much more!  Our club meets every Wednesday night from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. from September through May.

During the opening each evening, we enjoy fun songs and a brief Bible Council time with the leader giving special emphasis to some truth we need to learn.

During Handbook Time, the clubbers recite verses and talk about what they mean in their lives.

Game Time is a great time for fun, running around, and learning to play together.

Join us for a great evening of learning and growing!

WHAT'S AWANA?

AWANA is an international club started in 1950.  Our church hosts a program for children age 3 through 6th grade.  Our prayer is for boys and girls to come to know, love and serve Jesus Christ.  AWANA programs offer a time-tested approach for evangelism and discipleship for children in churches and the surrounding community.  A recent survey by AWANA showed that a large majority of children who attended AWANA for six years still attend church faithfully as adults.

During AWANA, your child will hear the Word of God and learn how it applies to them at their age and at their level.  They learn and memorize Bible verses and play fun games to earn "shares" which can be spent at the AWANA Store once a month.  The clubbers also form friendships that can last a lifetime.
